SERVICE UPDATE

As of 11 a.m., OG&E crews have restored power to 99% of customers who experienced an outage because of Monday night’s severe storms, with less than 200 customers remaining without service. Damage to OG&E equipment from the storms includes 37 transmission structures, 120 broken poles, 110 crossarms, 40 transformers and 15,000 feet of overhead line.

ETRs are available on our System Watch outage map for all areas impacted by Monday’s storms. OG&E estimates power will be restored in the following areas at the times listed below:

  • 10 p.m. today: approximately 70 customers in Winslow, AR, and Chester, AR

Severe weather is forecasted today for portions of OG&E’s service area, which could impact restoration times. Check System Watch for the latest outage information. We encourage our customers to have a safety plan in place for severe weather.  

As we clear tree limbs that are interfering with power lines, OG&E will bring tree and brush debris to the curb; however, customers are responsible for removing the debris. City and county resources for debris removal may be available and will vary by community. Learn more about what to do after a storm here.

As of 9:15 p.m., OG&E crews have restored power to 97% of customers who experienced an outage following Monday night’s severe weather. Approximately 1,300 customers are without service.

Damage to OG&E equipment from the storms included 37 transmission structures, 120 broken poles, 110 crossarms, 40 transformers replaced and 15,000 feet of wire.

Estimated Times of Restoration (ETRs) are available on our System Watch outage map. Below is a list of anticipated restoration times:

  • 10 p.m. tonight: Most customers in OKC Metro South, OKC Metro East and Shawnee except for approximately 50 customers across Midwest City, Chandler and East OKC that have an ETR of 10 a.m. tomorrow.  
  • 5 pm tomorrow: Most customers in the Fort Smith, AR, area except for approximately 70 customers in Winslow, AR, and Chester, AR that have an ETR of 10 p.m. tomorrow.

More severe weather is forecasted Wednesday for portions of our service area, which could impact restoration times. We encourage our customers to have a safety plan in place for severe weather.

OG&E crews have restored power to 89% of customers who experienced an outage caused by severe storms including damaging winds and tornadoes. As of 2:30 p.m., approximately 4,000 customers are without service, out of 38,000 customers who experienced an outage during these extreme storms.  

Our crews continue to work to assess damage and restore power. Estimated Times of Restoration (ETRs) are available for some areas on our System Watch outage map. Below is a list of anticipated restoration times:  

  • 4 p.m. today: Metro west and north including Eagle City, Mustang, Yukon, Guthrie, Langston, N. OKC  
  • 4 p.m. today: Southern part of service area including Ardmore, Dickson, Elmore City, Lone Grove  
  • 6 p.m. tonight: Northeast part of service area including Bristow, Bixby, Checotah, Boynton, Muskogee, Perkins  
  • 10 p.m. tonight Northwest part of service area including Bison, Douglas, Drummond, Enid,  Hennessey, Orlando, Waukomis, Woodward  

We are completing damage assessment throughout the afternoon in areas that do not have ETRs available yet, as these areas have significant damage. ETRs will become available after assessments are completed.

Severe storms including damaging winds, tornadoes and heavy rainfall moved through OG&E’s service area overnight, causing downed power lines, broken power poles, and damage to cross arms and other equipment attached to poles.

As of 11 a.m., approximately 7,000 customers are without service, after a night that saw 38,000 customers experience an outage. We have restored power to approximately 82% of customers who experienced an outage as a result of Monday night’s storms. There are 1,100 operations personnel restoring service to homes and businesses that can accept power.

Due to the widespread nature of the overnight storms, we are seeing outages across the service area including Van Buren and Mountainburg, Arkansas; as well as a number of Oklahoma communities – like Oklahoma City, Muskogee, Del City, Moore, and Shawnee.

Downed power lines may still be energized and should be considered hazardous. Please stay away from them and anything they are touching. Extreme high winds impacted OG&E’s service area overnight. These winds have downed power lines and broken power poles, cross arms, and other equipment attached to poles. Our restoration crews have been mobilized to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE

Extreme high winds and thunderstorms are forecast for later this evening across our service area. Our restoration crews are preparing and are ready to respond.  

Sign up for myOGEalerts to get information by text, email, and/phone. And download the OG&E mobile app on iOS or Android to monitor storms.    

We encourage our customers to have a safety plan for severe weather. Take a moment to review these tips to stay safe.

Before a Storm:

  • Understand the safest places to seek shelter and what to wear  
  • Develop a safety plan for everyone in the house, including your pets
  • Sign up for your community’s weather alerts
  • Charge your phone and any other devices  
  • Gather emergency supplies, including flashlights, fresh batteries, a battery-powered radio or TV for news updates, bottled water and canned food, medication, emergency phone numbers and portable chargers

During a Storm:

  • Stay away from downed power lines and anything they are touching  
  • Report an outage using myOGEalerts, the OG&E mobile app (iOS or Android), OGE.com/outages, or call 800-522-6870
  • Unplug major appliances
  • Leave a light switch on so you know when power is restored
  • Never remove debris that’s within 10 feet of a power line
  • Stay away from standing water near wires and appliances
